About the Event

Outreach Teamleads all field and organizational outreach: spreading information to constituents, recruiting volunteers, building partnerships with community orgs and groups

  • Outreach leadmanages entire Outreach Team, has VAN access, develops and executes outreach strategy alongside core team and other members of Outreach Team
    • Textbanking leadtrains volunteers, leads textbanks, writes text scripts, develops and executes texting strategy alongside Outreach lead and core team
    • Relational leadleads relational organizing parties / “friendbanks,” manages relational organizing database (Google Form?), does follow-ups/1:1s with potential volunteers IDed relationally
    • Flyering lead — works with graphic design lead to design flyers and lit, leads lit drops and flyering events, manages distributed flyering, develops and executes strategy for which neighborhoods to target, tracks flyering progress
    • Partnerships lead — identifies and does outreach to potential partner orgs and community groups, has 1:1s with contacts from groups, manages outreach spreadsheet, becomes point person for partner groups

Neighborhood captains — Cambridge residents who can be a point people for distributing flyers and materials to their specific ward or block. Neighborhood captains will connect with their neighbors about Project Right to Housing about housing justice in neighborhood social media groups or events. Neighborhood captains also collect vital information about how community members feel about the messaging and direction of the campaign and can advocate on the behalf of their specific ward and block. Neighborhood captains are encouraged to attend weekly meetings to stay in touch with the current direction of the campaign and participate directly in shaping the messaging as a whole.
